If you placed an order on the Forney Store and notice a second charge on your credit card, this is typically related to sales tax processing for Guest checkout orders.
Why this happens
-
When you check out as a Guest, our system processes the initial charge based on the product total.
-
Because Guest checkouts are not linked to an established Forney Business Account, the site cannot immediately validate your shipping address to apply the correct sales tax.
-
Once your order is processed in our internal system and your shipping address is validated, the applicable sales tax is calculated and charged as a separate transaction.
Important: This only affects Guest orders.
Logged-in Business Account users with a Forney Customer ID see the full tax-calculated amount at checkout and will not see a second charge.
What you’ll see on your credit card
-
First charge: Product total (initial order confirmation)
-
Second charge: Applicable sales tax, which appears once your order ships
Your Sales Acknowledgment document (attached to your order email) includes the full order total including tax. The second charge will match the tax applied to the order.
