Step 1: Check for Power at the Touchscreen

Look for the Power LED
On the bottom edge of the touchscreen, locate the Power LED indicator. If illuminated, the touchscreen is receiving power.
Step 2: Check for Activity During Startup
If the Power LED is illuminated, continue with the following checks:

HDD LED Activity
Look for brief flickering or momentary illumination of the HDD LED during startup. This indicates that the system is attempting to boot.

Startup Sound
Listen for a short “beep” or “chirp” when the touchscreen powers on.
If the Power LED is illuminated but there is no HDD LED activity and no sound, the touchscreen has likely experienced an internal electronics failure and requires replacement.

Confirm with External Monitor
To further verify, connect an external monitor to the touchscreen using the HDMI or VGA port. If there is no output, this confirms the failure.

“This replacement ForneyLink® HMI requires final configuration with the compression machine…”
This indicates that while the Forney software is installed, the touchscreen must be configured to match the hardware of your specific machine. This is common due to hardware variations across machine models and optional features such as Modulus of Elasticity (MOE) testing.
