Starter Guide: Stonemont Integration with ForneyVault

Learn how to connect Stonemont with ForneyVault so your lab can seamlessly manage samples from creation through testing. 1. One-Time Setup for Each User

Each user who sends or receives data between Stonemont and ForneyVault must complete these steps.

Step 1: Link Your Lab to ForneyVault

  1. Open StonemontUser Settings
  2. Select the Other tab
  3. Next to ForneyVault Lab, click the brown arrow
  4. Wait a few seconds, then open the dropdown list
  5. Choose the correct lab location (e.g., McBain or Traverse City)
  6. Click the purple Save button at the top

⚠️ Critical: If no lab is selected, specimens will appear on all machines in your entire organization - which can lead to significant confusion for every lab.

Step 2: Configure Your Defaults

  1. In the left-hand panel, click Settings
  2. Under General Options, open Concrete
  3. Enter your defaults:
    • Specimen Size: e.g., 4x8 cylinders
    • Capping Method: e.g., Neoprene pads
    • Curing Method: e.g., Tank curing
    • Default Cylinder Set: e.g., 7:2, 28:3
    • Auto ID Format: Set to Alt Sample Number if using internal sequential IDs/ticket numbers
    • Break Machine Interface: Must be ForneyVault
  4. Save changes

2. Creating and Sending Samples

On Desktop

  1. Go to Concrete TestNew
  2. Select plant → enter ticket number → click brown arrow
  3. Enter internal sample number in Alt Sample ID
  4. Enter plastic properties → save
  5. Review cylinder set (add extras if needed)
  6. Click Export arrow (brown, pointing right) to send to ForneyVault

On Mobile (Field Entry)

  1. Open Concrete Field Test in Stonemont
  2. Select plant → enter ticket number
  3. Enter internal sample number in Alt Sample ID
  4. Add plastic properties → save
  5. Tap cylinder icon
  6. Toggle Send to Break System ON → confirm

3. Testing at the ForneyVault Machine

Step 1: Log In

  1. On ForneyLink home screen, open Username dropdown → select your name
    • Your name must be set up in ForneyTools → Admin → ForneyLink Users
    • If not listed, contact an administrator
    • If required, enter PIN/password
  2. Tap Login

Step 2: Select Specimen

  • Option A: Search by Sample Number
    1. Tap Sample button
    2. Select specimen from list
    3. If missing, tap Search for Sample → enter Sample Number → choose specimen → tap OK
  • Option B: Scan QR Label (ForneyScan enabled)
    1. Scan QR label on specimen
    2. Specimen loads automatically

Step 3: Run the Test

  1. Place specimen between platens
  2. Tare the machine (first specimen of the day or when changing size):
    • Jog head until ~1/16” above specimen
    • Press Load to tare to zero
  3. Press Start Test
    • On automatic machines with auto preload, controller preloads and applies load to failure
  4. ForneyVault records max load, strength, and test parameters

4. Importing Results into Stonemont

  1. In Stonemont, open Concrete Break Grid
  2. Select plant → set date range to today
  3. Click Schedule to view specimens due
  4. After testing, click Import arrow (brown, pointing left)
  5. Break data populates into Stonemont

5. Daily Best Practices

  • Always use Alt Sample ID for internal tracking
  • Confirm Export before testing
  • Import results after each testing session

6. Troubleshooting

  • Specimens appear on all machines
    • Cause: No lab selected in Stonemont User Settings
    • Fix: Delete incorrect samples in ForneyVault → select correct lab in Stonemont → export again
  • Specimens not appearing in ForneyVault:
    • Cause: Sample was not exported from Stonemont
    • Fix: Export from Stonemont before testing
  • Specimens not appearing at the machine:
    • Cause: Machine is not syncing with ForneyVault
    • Fix: Connect machine to the Internet
  • Results not appearing in ForneyVault
    • Cause: Machine is not syncing with ForneyVault
    • Fix: Connect machine to the Internet
  • Results not appearing in Stonemont:
    • Cause: Sample was not imported into Stonemont
    • Fix: Import results from ForneyVault into Stonemont

For Daily Technician Use

  1. Create & Export Samples (Stonemont)
    • Concrete Test → New → Enter ticket number & Alt Sample ID → Fill plastic properties → Review cylinder set → Export
    • ⚠️ Must export before testing
  2. Test Specimens (ForneyVault Machine)
    • Log in to ForneyLink
    • Select specimen (list or QR scan)
    • Insert specimen, tare if needed, run test
    • Results automatically sent to ForneyVault
  3. Import Results (Stonemont)
    • Open Concrete Break Grid → select plant & date → Schedule → Import

Quick Troubleshooting

  • Specimens on all labs’ machines → No lab selected → Delete & re-export
  • Missing specimens/results → Export/import not performed in Stonemont or machine not syncing with ForneyVault.
